Jimmy Butler III was born on September 14, 1989, in Houston. The mother raised her son alone, since the father left the family. This forced them to move to the small town of Tomball, not far from Houston.
Jimmy had a very complicated relationship with his mother. One day she kicked a thirteen-year-old boy out of the house because she didn’t like his appearance. He was left on the street without a penny in his pocket and spent the night with friends, wandering from one house to another.
Luckily enough, one day Jimmy met Jordan Leslie. They played together in the basketball league at Tomball High School. The boys became friends and Leslie offered Jimmy to stay at his place from time to time. Jordan’s parents were not fond of this idea, since their family was large and not rich. However, Leslie’s mother was an incredibly kind woman and agreed to leave Butler if he became an obedient student without bad habits and night parties.
In adulthood, Butler reluctantly recalled and told such details. Jimmy mentioned that he didn’t want to talk about the past and didn’t want people to feel sorry for him after learning such a story. Butler believes that hardships helped him reach all heights. Thus, he is grateful and does not want to focus on the past.

After graduating from high school, Butler entered Tyler Junior College, where he continued to play basketball. The usual hobby turned into constant training. Later, he joined the team. Jimmy became not only the captain but also received a sports scholarship.
Since then, he has been a member of famous basketball teams, such as Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves, Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat (since 2019).
He plays for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He also has his sports nickname and is known as Jimmy Buckets.
Butler repeatedly received awards for his sports achievements. One of them was the title of the NBA Most Improved Player in 2015.
According to Forbes, Butler’s financial income in 2021 was $38.5 million. At the same time, it is known that a fourth part of the funds does not come from basketball but from unknown sources.
Coffee obsession
In 2020, Butler was spotted with a coffee machine and an interesting offer to buy a cup of his personally prepared coffee for $20. All drinks cost the same, including espresso, latte, cappuccino, etc.
According to the athlete, there was no good coffee anywhere on the NBA campus in Orlando, as well as near his temporary Walt Disney World hotel. Students and passers-by eagerly bought Jimmy’s coffee, which allowed him to earn about $2,000 in one day.
Later he founded his own coffee brand. Butler was so seriously interested in this activity that after sports training he hurried home to learn how to make aromatic and tasty coffee. Jimmy visited a coffee farm in Costa Rica to improve his knowledge and to take his coffee business to the next level.
