First steps
Megan was born on February 15, 1995, in San Antonio, Texas. She and her mother relocated to Houston as soon as she was born. Her mother, Holly Thomas, rapped under the pseudonym Holly-Wood. She frequently took her daughter to the recording studio instead of kindergarten.

In July 2020, Megan Thee Stallion claimed that she received gunshot wounds and underwent surgery to remove bullets. This information contradicted her prior statement that she wounded her leg on a broken window when she was in a car with Canadian rapper Tory Lanez and an unknown woman.
Megan later revealed on Instagram Live that she had actually survived a shooting. The following month, she claimed to have been shot by Tory Lanez, but she did not tell the police the truth because of fear for her life.
In September, the Canadian published “Daystar”, an album in which practically every song denied Megan’s charges and alleged that the rapper attempted to frame him. Megan later stated that Tory Lanez and his team offered her money in exchange for silence.
In October 2020, Tory Lanez was accused by the Los Angeles prosecutor’s office of shooting Megan Thee Stallion. During the investigation, the accused was required to stay at least 91 meters away from Megan. He was also ordered to surrender all weapons.
